Consumed: 2008 BlueCat Quarterfinalist!

A second honor has been bestowed upon our screenplay Consumed.  It has been named as a Quarterfinalist in the 2008 BlueCat Screenwriting Competition.  This is particularly cool because this is not a genre-specific competition.  So, even among other types of scripts, our story fares well.

The great thing about BlueCat is that every screenplay entered (and there were over 2700 this year) gets free script analysis.  This is a tremendous benefit, since often you enter a comeptition or send off to agents and producers only to hear nothing, other than a cordial "no thanks."

The analysis we received, I felt, was terrific.  The reader seemed to really understand what we were trying to achieve, and appreciated elements of the script that I am particularly proud of. The main issue the reader mentioned was actually something we decided to do with the story on purpose.  Some people will get it, and some will not.  The reader got it, but was uncertain if it was purposeful or accidental.  Let me assure you: our shit is always on purpose.  Yes, even Badness.
